Loch Lomond whisky mixed with soda and tonic is known as a ‘sonic’—a combination you can discover at Tanks. Visitors say the staff will suggest a drink if you share what you like, and that they heard about the distillery and the whisky’s origins while it was being served. Whether you already know what you want or would rather ask for a recommendation, the conversation is part of the evening.

Whisky is not the only option: one visitor also enjoyed a frozen cocktail made with passion fruit and grapefruit. The selection centres on whisky, while leaving room for classic cocktails, too. Some guests have also appreciated the quiet atmosphere and jazz playing in the bar. Settle in with a drink, take in the bottles behind the bar and hear a little about what is in your glass.

Tanks is open from 20:00 on Tuesday to Saturday, closing at 2:00 the following day. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
